The Cup of the Strongest Speed Skating Athletes with the participation of the best Belarusian and Russian athletes started at the Minsk Arena.
The competition program of the tournament opened with races at a distance of 500 m for women, at the start of which six representatives of Belarus and Russia each took part. The gold medal was won by the strongest Russian sprinter Daria Kachanova, who showed a time of 37.69 seconds. Second place with a result of 38.21 seconds. The leader of the Belarusian sprint team Anna Domoratskaya took the top three, Angelina Golikova closed the top three (38.89 seconds)
Following the girls, the men took to the start of the 500 m distance. The leader of our national team, Ignat Golovatyuk, showed a result of 35.36 seconds. and won silver.
Marina Zueva brought the first gold to the Belarusian team. In the women's 3000 m competition, the Belarusian ran in the last fifth pair with Russian Alexandra Sayutina. Zueva showed a result of 4 minutes. 08.84 sec. and became the owner of gold.
At a distance of 5000 m for men, the leader of our stayer team, Egor Domoratsky, in the strongest pair, confidently beat the Russian Maxim Andryushin and showed the best result among six participants - 6 minutes. 40.95 sec.
The program of the first day of competition was completed by team sprints. The best time for the girls was shown by the Belarusian trio consisting of Anna Domoratskaya, Ekaterina Gagieva and Sofia Taturevich (1 minute 29.25 seconds). Among the men, the Belarus-2 team, for which Evgeny Gagiev, Vladislav Gapon and Vladislav Zapoykin ran, took second place with a result of 1 minute 23.04 seconds, losing a second to the main Russian trio.
